Thames Valley Gay Chorus
Thames Valley Gay Chorus (TVGC) is a dedicated LGBTQ+ choir where all adults are welcome. Our aim is to provide a safe space for members of the LGBTQ+ community to get together, develop skills in singing and performing, whilst also taking advantage of the wide array of social opportunities offered by the group.
We rehearse on Monday evenings between 7pm and 9pm. We are based in Caversham, Reading. TVGC welcomes singers of all levels: there is no audition requirement to join us, and you do not need to be able to read music. We simply ask that you enjoy singing. Our rehearsal space has wheelchair access and gender neutral toilets. There is a car park, places to lock up a bike and plenty of busses into Caversham.
Throughout the year, the choir performs at a number of different functions, including self-organised concerts (usually July and December). We attend and perform at local, community-based events including Reading Pride and the Transgender Day of Remembrance vigil. We also get involved with UK wide events such as Hand in Hand and other events relating to the LGBTQ+ community.
