“World Class Brass from the World’s number one ranked Brass Band, if you want quality then this is a concert not to be missed.”
The origin of the Foden’s Band goes back to 1900 when the village of Elworth and Sandbach in Cheshire held a celebration after the Relief of Mafeking during the Boer War. Various local bands including the “Sandbach Volunteer Brass band” and the “Wheelock Temperance Band” took part but were delayed by the generosity of a local landlord who offered them free drinks.
In September 2023 they became the British Open Champions at the Symphony Hall, Birmingham. As well as being successful on the contest front the band have won numerous awards for cd releases, regularly appear on BBC TV and Radio and perform at all the countries leading concert halls. Around the world Foden’s Band is a trademark that musicians associate with inestimable class and musicianship.
