The Sunday Alternative - Real-life Instagram

-

This month, we are going to share a little of ourselves through photography.

We’re asking each of you to send in a photo you have taken, that is meaningful to you in a way you could explain in a few sentences. Don't use one that obviously identifies you, such as a selfie because guessing which photo is whose will be part of the fun.

Ensure the photo is family-friendly but beyond that, anything is fine - fun, serious, artistic, mundane, surreal, cliched, quirky - it's not a photography competition. The important thing is that the photo holds meaning for you and will allow you to share something of yourself with others.

Send your photo, which will be taken between May 14th and June 23rd, to https://forms.gle/azpsvAgatQYM9ecH6. There is no need to supply your name.

Then at the assembly, we’ll play a guessing game to uncover each photographer and invite them to say why they took that photo.

Even if you don’t want to send in a photo, there are all the other elements of The Sunday Alternative to find out why The Rising Sun Arts Centre is the best place to be on a Sunday morning. Find lovely people, live music, interesting ideas, some silliness and cakes.

About The Sunday Alternative

If you're looking for a good time, look no further than The Sunday Alternative! We're a bunch of secular legends who meet monthly in Reading to celebrate life.

We're about Living Better, Helping Often, and Wondering More, and we do it for one reason only - to make the most of this one life we've got. We're a diverse bunch of characters, so you're bound to meet some cracking new mates.

Our mornings are chock-a-block with singing, games, interesting chats, and scoffing cake. Plus, it's inclusive - we welcome anyone, no matter their age or background. It won't cost you a penny, if pennies are hard to come by, as we run entirely on donations.

If you're feeling peckish, we've got that covered too. Just come early, which is the best way to meet new people, grab a cuppa, and tuck into some homemade vegan-friendly treats.

Doors open at 10:30 am for teas and chats. The Assembly begins at 11 am and ends at about 12:15 pm. Then more coffee and cakes until 1 pm. After we find a pub or a space in the park if the weather is kind.
