School Of The Arts (SOTA) is Berkshire’s leading part-time performing arts academy and theatre school, providing a professional, vibrant and fun environment for 3-18 year-olds to enjoy dance, singing and drama classes.

SOTA was founded in 2005 by former Screen Actress and West End performer, Juliette Caton, with the aim of delivering outstanding training in performing arts to the young people of Reading.

Dance, acting and singing training is delivered by qualified dance teachers, choreographers, acting coaches and singing teachers who not only have professional performing industry experience but also teach from that context.

Where some part-time theatre schools offer purely dance and drama exam classes and other schools only offer non-syllabus classes, SOTA delivers a comprehensively orchestrated blend of L.A.M.D.A. Acting and I.S.T.D. Modern, Tap & Ballet Dance Examination classes alongside a wider variety of creative performance classes and workshops all in one place on one day; delivering a comprehensive, personalised, all round training.

This allows pupils to experience intimate performance settings such as solo cabaret-style performances as well as larger biannual shows at local professional theatres and even performing regularly on a West End stage. This combination of qualifications and performance experiences gives SOTA pupils the best of both worlds.

SOTA aims for excellence in all areas and this was recognised when SOTA was identified as a business which demonstrates ‘Best Practise’ in it’s field by 'The Parliamentary Review’ which resulted in Director of SOTA, Juliette Caton, being one of a handful of UK business leaders who was invited to contribute an article to it’s 2019/20 publication.

From building creative confidence to training professionally for a career in performing arts, SOTA can help your child or young student to achieve their goals.
