Songlines: creative workshop with artist Lisa-Marie Gibbs

Well-known Reading artist Lisa-Marie Gibbs will gently guide you to find pathways through the Abstract Art for Everyone exhibition.

She says: ‘The workshop will be experimental in its approach, giving you the chance to immerse yourself in the exhibition by giving it life in your own interpretations. We will seek to enter the works, to explore the harmonies and songlines within individual pieces and to look at how they interact with one another. As we navigate our way through colour, shape, form and composition within the exhibition, we will start to tune into and create our own songlines, using collage, drawing and stitch’.

‘When I first visited I adored the exhibition, the conversations between the pieces, whether next to or across the room really resonated with me. Thoughts of Aboriginal wanderers in dreamtime and Bruce Chatwin's book Songlines danced through my thoughts’.

Quality materials will be included and there will be a lunch break.
