RABBLE Theatre's Masterclasses are professional workshops with leading industry specialists covering a wide variety of skills, on and off stage.
We are delighted to kick off our 2022 Masterclasses with Demystifying Shakespeare and the Casting Process. Join Matthew Dewsbury from the Royal Shakespeare Company and get tips from one of the industry’s leading casting directors.
Workshop Content
The first half of this workshop will be a practical look at how to prepare for a Shakespeare audition, offering some tactics on how to approach an unfamiliar speech.
The second half will be an informal discussion about the casting process at the Royal Shakespeare Company, as well as an attempt to demystify the casting process in general. Matthew will take you through the casting process from beginning to end and answer those burning questions;
- How do I get an audition?
- How do I write to a Casting Director?
- How should my CV look?
- What are casting directors looking for in an audition?
