Get Up On Stage with RABBLE Theatre
Adult Acting Classes for 18 - 80
Monday evenings 19:00-21:30
Award winning RABBLE Theatre (formerly Reading Between the Lines) offers in-depth theatre training for adults aged 18-80 who love acting. RABBLE's acting classes are open to all and welcomes students who have never acted in their lives before alongside others who are looking to go into the career.
At Get Up On Stage you will work with award-winning professional professional directors, fight choreographers, improvisation teachers, voice specialists, actors and movement directors to develop stage and performance skills, learning about all the skills you need to perform in one of RABBLE's professional companies and working towards performance in one of their productions, or in a showcase at the end of term.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, RABBLE's classes are offered online via Zoom. RABBLE has been successfully delivering classes and workshops since March 2020 when the new online format became an essential tool, enabling students to continue to take part.
In the spring term 2021, GUOS students will also have access to RABBLE's Masterclass Season as part of their spring term membership. Guest tutors will join the regular team of GUOS teachers and will present different masterclass each week of the 10-week term. Masterclasses will include; Narrating Audio Books: An introduction with Rosie Jones; Theatre Set Design: An Introduction with Sarah Jane Booth; Shakespeare Masterclass with Hal Chambers; Acting for Video Games with Holly Reddaway; The Guide to Effectively Approaching a Full-Length Play, with Cressida Brown.
For many reasons some regular GUOS members are currently unable to commit to the 10 weeks so RABBLE has opened up the Masterclass Season to the public and these 90 minute classes are all available to join on a drop-in basis. Tickets and details can be found on the What's On page of RABBLE's website.
If you are interested in joining GUOS RABBLE offers free trials at the start of each term for anyone interested in giving it a go. The next free trial evening will be Monday 26th April when RABBLE hopes to be delivering socially distanced face to face classes again at a location in Reading.
GUOS fees are £130.00 for 10 weeks. Fees are due at the start of term but payment plans can be arranged if needed.
