Professor Brian Kemp Memorial Lecture - Spring 2023
This is the third Professor Brian Kemp Memorial Lecture in memory of the founder and former President of the Friends of Reading Abbey, who died in 2019.
The lecture will be given by Dr Jamie Ingram who will talk on "The Medieval Pilgrimage Experience: Arrival, Destination and Engagement". The talk will explore some of the historic and archaeological evidence for the pilgrimage experience.
Jamie Ingram is a doctor of medieval archaeology, affiliated to the University of Southampton and Hampshire Historic Graffiti Survey.
Lecture starts at 2.30pm, doors open 2pm
Entry to the lecture is free, there will be a retiring collection.
