Christmas Activities at Reading Libraries

Various dates and locations across Reading Libraries

During the run up to Christmas Reading Libraries will be holding lots of seasonal activities.  Sessions are drop in unless otherwise stated and there is a charge of £1 per person taking part in craft activities.

Battle Library

Tuesday 5th December – Tuesday 19th December

  • Letters to Santa - Fill in a letter to Santa, give it a special stamp and post in our Christmas post box. Each letter will be entered into a prize draw.  You can also get a reply from Santa to your letter if you would like.

Tuesday 12th December – 23rd December

  • Decorate a bauble for our Christmas tree display
  • Christmas Cracker Treasure Hunt

Thursday 21st December 2.30pm – 3.30pm

  • Light-up Snowman Craft.

Friday 22nd December 10 & 11am

  • Special Christmas Rhymetimes

Reading Central Library

Throughout December

  • Christmas Trail - Follow our fun trail throughout the library. Don’t forget to pause a while to read a festive book during your visit.
  • Make and Take festive craft bags

19 & 21 December

  • Christmas Rhymetimes - Father Christmas doesn’t stop at Christmas time and nor do we.  Our rhymetimes are about to get extra magical over December. 10.30am and 11.15am / Free, drop in.

Tilehurst Library

Each Saturday before Christmas 10.30am - 2.30pm.

  • Do-it-yourself Christmas Crafts - Help yourself to a selection of crafting options in the children’s library. 

Whitley Library

Each Saturday before Christmas 10am - 1pm.

  • Whitley Library have craft activities running every Saturday in December from 10am to 1pm.  Some are Christmas themed but not all!
