One of most famous brass bands in the UK &  2023 Welsh Champions and double British Open Champions.

The roots of Tredegar Band can be traced back to 1849, but it wasn’t until 1876 that the band was officially established. Since themid-1970s, it has emerged as one of thepremier performers in the world of brass bands, boasting multiple victories in major competitions. As a self-sustaining organisation known for its innovative spirit, Tredegar Band takes great pride in representing its namesake town. This pride is exemplified in their contribution to the BAFTA Award-winning film, “Pride.” The band has achieved significant artistic milestones, including the world premiere of Gavin Higgins’ acclaimed production, “Dark Arteries,” with the Rambert Ballet at Sadler’s Wells. They have also been featured in the “Changing Britain” series at London’s Southbank and played a notable role in the 70th-anniversary celebrations of the National Health Service, marking an historic moment as the first brass band to perform in The Speaker’s House at the Palace of Westminster. In August 2022, the band received widespread acclaim for their performances as part of the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.
