What's On Partner catch-up - February 2024
If you've landed on this page, it's hopefully because you were pointed here by my email!
Thanks again to everyone who made it along to this year's Partner catch-up - two years on the trot, it's safe to say it's becoming an annual tradition! It was great to see you all, and to see you all catching up and connecting with each other. Networking really shouldn't be a dirty word!
As promised, here are the slides from the presentation - with the big headline being that we broke the 1 million users mark in 2023 - as well as some stats, including the top 500 pages, Partner events that got more than 500 views and a few other useful bits and pieces:
Discussion points
I wasn't really making notes, but these were some of the key points that came up in the Q&A afterwards:
What is/was the Reading Cultural Awards?
- Running 2017-2019, they were a way of celebrating the great things our arts, culture and heritage community achived in the previous 12 months, with categories like "Cultural Organisation of the Year", "Festival of the Year", "Performance of the year" and more. We're looking to potentially revive in Sept/Oct this year, which would align nicely with the fifth anniversary of the site!
Can/will there be an easy way to feed info into the site from our own pages?
- I fear the varying differences between the platforms everyone uses might make this somewhat technically difficult, but I'll see what our developers say! And if there's anything else we can do to save time we'll see what it is we can do.
Expanding the ways people can "get involved" beyond the current auditions and volunteering pages - e.g. choirs looking for new members or artist/performer shout-outs
- Absolutely! Re-shaping that section of the site to give a wider "get involved" experience is releatively straightforward and will rely on input from across the Partnership. We'll get on it!
Where are people outside Reading who visit the site from?
- Added to the stats document - although there are a few caveats as only reflects the "new" Google Analytics period of May 2023 onwards
