Join our Artist in Residence, Antoinette Brown at Jelly studios, as she talks and discusses the creative processes and ideas that inspire her practice. She will explore the complexities of motherhood and her own maternal experiences - from new motherhood to experiencing the shift of roles with her own mother and grandmother. This will lead to an open dialogue where she invites attendees to discuss the multifaceted aspects of motherhood, exchanging your experiences and challenges faced. This is a space for mothers and artist mothers who share an interest in navigating the delicate balance between motherhood, life and artistic practice, to have an open conversation. Babes in arms are welcome and a break out space is availble.
Antoinette Brown is a visual artist inspired by the human condition and the cyclical nature of life. Her practice encompasses drawing, painting and sculpture, sensitively pulling together compositions that embolden the quiet and insignificant moments of life. Most recently her drawings place particular emphasis on the profound and transformative journey of motherhood.
