LANTERN MAKING WORKSHOPS
TAKE PART IN A FREE LANTERN MAKING WORKSHOP AFTER SCHOOL 28TH NOVEMBER 3.15pm-6.15pm @ HEXHAM ROAD COMMUNITY CENTREIn the run up to the event lantern making workshops will be held across Reading so that everybody has the opportunity to come along and make their own beautiful willow and paper lantern for the procession.
Each lantern workshop last two hours and will be supported by professional artists who will show you how to make your lantern and where to come on the day of the procession.
Reading buses will also be providing discounted travel from locations outside of the town centre for anybody coming in to take part in the procession with a lantern (travel vouchers will be given to those attending the workshops)
You will need to take all lanterns with you at the end of the workshop and they will be wet with glue so we recommend that you bring a bin bag.
ACCESS - The procession will move at a slow walking pace and accessible viewing areas will be available in Forbury Gardens. The lantern workshops are accessible to wheelchair users and please let us know if you have other access requirements.
WEATHER - This event takes place outdoors and will go ahead in light rain, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
