READING LANTERN PARADE - GLOW

Reading Town Centre / 7th December 2024 / 5pm until 6.30pm

Bring your loved ones together for a magical winter lantern procession on Saturday 7th December. Join the parade and walk together in candlelight to Town Hall Square for a magical musical finale.

In the run up to the event lantern making workshops will be held across Reading so that everybody has the opportunity to come along and make their own beautiful willow and paper lantern for the procession.

LANTERN MAKING WORKSHOPS

• SATURDAY 30TH NOVEMBER 3PM-5:30PM @ SOUTHCOTE HUB
• PLEASE BOOK ONE TICKET PER PERSON ATTENDING

In the run up to the event lantern making workshops will be held across Reading so that everybody has the opportunity to come along and make their own beautiful willow and paper lantern for the procession. Each lantern workshop last two hours and will be supported by professional artists who will show you how to make your lantern and where to come on the day of the procession.

You will need to take all lanterns with you at the end of the workshop and they will be wet with glue so we recommend that you bring a bin bag.

ACCESS - The procession will move at a slow walking pace and accessible viewing areas will be available in Forbury Gardens. The lantern workshops are accessible to wheelchair users and please let us know if you have other access requirements.

WEATHER - This event takes place outdoors and will go ahead in light rain, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
