Dance Reading
Reading Cultural Award nominee Dance Reading takes its annual festival online in November 2020, with a packed programme of workshops, live performances, film screenings and family fun. Award-winning, internationally renowned companies like Uchenna Dance, Fevered Sleep and Upswing feature alongside local performers and community events, as Dance Reading delivers an exciting and innovative online programme. In acknowledgement of the tough times faced by so many this year and as part of Dance Reading's desire to make the festival as accessible as possible, all the events are either free or pay-what-you-can. The festival takes place from 18-22 November.
Dance Reading (formerly Junction Dance) was formed in 2014 by a team of diverse dance professionals, with the specific goal to develop better opportunities for dance artists and audiences in Reading. We work in close partnership and collaboration with a wide range of organisations and individuals to improve, inspire, motivate and celebrate dance in Reading.
In early 2015 Junction Dance set-up the Reading Dance Professionals Network (RDPN), which meets monthly to provide networking opportunities, funding advice, mentoring and industry support. RDPN has a growing group of active members and our facebook page is a hub for local job opportunities, signposting, marketing and vital industry mechanics.
