Applications for residencies at Jelly
Our Residency Programmes are a way to explore new ideas, create work, and contribute to our creative community.
Artists are invited to consider responses to the idea of Play. We encourage you to explore the joy, experimentation, and possibilities that emerge through play in all its forms.
For our next round of artist residencies we are opening applications specifically for artists who live in Reading or are members of Jelly’s Associate Artist scheme. We are especially keen to encourage applications from members of communities who have been systemically under-supported in the arts, including artists who identify as Black, Asian, or from other Global Majority backgrounds. We believe that diversity enriches creativity and collaboration, and we are dedicated to building an environment where artists from all backgrounds feel welcome and supported.

Want to create a Mural? Looking for Expressions of Interest
The University of Reading is seeking Expressions of Interest for the design and delivery of a large-scale mural on the University of Reading’s Whiteknights campus. Spanning approximately 9.5m wide x 3m high, the mural will be painted onto the wall of the University of Reading’s historic Edith Morley building. The mural will celebrate 100 years since the University of Reading was granted a Royal Charter and became a university.
The chosen artist, creative or collective will have experience in co-creation, community engagement, and public art delivery. The chosen mural should ensure maximum visual impact, create a focal point on Whiteknights campus, and enable our communities to engage thoughtfully and curiously with the history of the university. The artwork will illustrate our past, celebrate the present, and look forward to our future. The mural is funded by the Centenary Project Grant Scheme and will be unveiled in 2026, at the annual University of Reading Community Festival (May 2026).

Forest School and Outdoor Learning Training
Muddy Puddle Outdoor Learning offers nationally recognised qualifications in Forest School and Outdoor Learning, and they currently have some training available for anyone looking to step up when it comes to stepping outside:
Outdoor Learning Practitioner - Gain skills and confidence in using your grounds for curriculum delivery.
Forest School Leader Level 3 - This course is designed for those who would like to set up and run a Forest School programmes. There are five Units of Study at Level 3.

Our aim is to offer a fantastic and welcoming venue that embraces Reading’s rich and vibrant culture, and create a setting where everyone can relax, work, meet, create and perform - all under one roof.
