Our 4-day programme celebrating nature across Reading is back for 2025, with free activities every day!

We've once again split Reading into five zones for maximum immersion in our natural heritage, with walks, talks and more. From bats to badgers, trees to turbines, marshes to museums, there's truly something for everyone.

Zone 1- Emmer Green, Caversham, Caversham heights

Thursday 26th June

Explore Caversham Court Gardens - drop in all day

Friday 27th June

Balmore Park Litter Pick and tree ID - 1pm

Saturday 28th June

Keep Caversham Tidy Litter Pick - 10am

BIG Community Natural Art at Balmore Park - 11am

Sunday 29th June

Bat Walk at Clayfield Copse - 9pm

Zone 2- Lower Earley, Green Park, Whitley, Whitley Wood

Thursday 26th June

Stop motion workshop at Green Health Thames Valley - 3pm

Wind Turbine visit (all ages) - 6pm

Friday 27th June

Cowsey Conservation fun with Nature Nurture -  10am-1pm

Sound bath Maiden Erlegh Nature Reserve - 8pm

Bat Walk Maiden Erlegh Nature Reserve - 8:45pm

Saturday 28th June

Magical Moth ID session Maiden Erlegh Nature Reserve - 10am

Sunday 29th June

Wind turbine visit (all ages) - 3pm

Community Picnic Swallows Meadow - 2pm-5pm

Community Food growing at Holy Brook Nook with Food 4 Families - 3-5pm

Craven Road NHS Wellbeing Garden Walk - 11am

Binfield Badgers at Reading Museum - 11am-1pm

Sunday 29th June

Five miles of magic in the meadows starting at Holybrook Nook - 12pm

Zone 4- University of Reading, Newtown, Woodley, Old Earley

British Islamic Garden Tour - 10am

Bats and Bat rescue talk, Woodley Library - 4pm

Friday 27th June

Stop motion with nature workshop, St Nicholas Church - 5pm

Saturday 28th June

Reading Old Cemetery Wildlife Exploration (self-led) - drop in all day

Sunday 29th June

Newtown Community Garden monthly social and garden jobs - 11am-2pm

Zone 5- Calcot, Tilehurst, Southcote

Southcote GrowAllot open session - 10am-12pm

Friday 27th June

Widdershins Walk: A book reading and talk with Geoff Sawers, Dee Cafe - 11am

Ramble through the Meadows from Fobney Lock - 7pm
