The pubs name is a nod to the traditional British currency of the past, with "guinea" once representing a gold coin worth 21 shillings. The pub has been a staple of the local area for centuries, dating back to the 18th century. Throughout its long history, it has served as a welcoming stop for travellers and locals alike. It became particularly popular in the Victorian era

when Reading was a key railway hub, and the pub's location made it an ideal spot for those coming and going via train.

Over the years, the Three Guineas has undergone several renovations, blending the charm of its historic past with modern amenities, yet still retains a traditional feel with its cozy interior and classic pub atmosphere.
