Bookface: Chapter 14

Come and join us for Bookface Chapter 14, share ideas, browse stalls, make a mini book, listen to poetry, and enjoy lovely refreshments in our Yellow Teapot Cafe!

At Bookface this year, visitors can browse stalls and share ideas with local artists and some artists from further afield. Many types of book forms will be on display, including altered books, comic books, sketch books, handmade and one-off books, zines, independent publishers, installation pieces and more.

Exhibiting artists:

Helen Lunn - experiments with handmade folded book forms.

Body Talk - Zines in collaboration with creatives around the world to continue the conversation on mental health and body image.

Immy Smith - Art and life science illustrated zines and handmade paints.

The Bookband - A group of seven book artists, creating individual and collaborative projects.

Two Rivers Press - Reading’s own publisher of local interest about Reading’s people, poetry and art (wildlife and botanical) books.

Gill Learner - will be giving a poetry reading at 2.30pm, Gill’s poetry books will be available too.

Redden Press - Photography led micro books and pamphlets, often with local themes.

Geoff Sawers - Independently published books based on local and naturalist themes.

ZAP Publishing - Publishes ZAP Magazine for people with learning disabilities and poetry anthologies.

Denis Cotter and Jack Wellings - Exhibiting sketchbooks and paintings.

Rachel Knight - handmade books using mixed media and textiles.

Suzanne Carson - handmade mini books and journals, using printmaking and botanical themes.

Larry Watson - comic books, follow the Adventures of Merit Maotse.

Bookface Bookclub - a group of artists making handmade books in a variety of ways.

Chris Mercier - artist and printmaker, exhibiting a print.

The Move Up Project - Exhibition of handmade books created over several years, by a group of people with learning disabilities.

As part of Bookface this year we are also hosting some smaller events in the run-up to the big day:
