Reading Male Voice Choir
One of the premier male choirs of the south of England, every year Reading Male Voice Choir raises thousands of pounds for local charities across a wide area with a concert every month. In 2018-19 we raised £14,000!
Founded in 1971 by Gwyn Arch MBE, a prodigious arranger and composer of choral music. Gwyn was succeded by Musical Director Clive Waterman in 2015. Clive is well known for his enthusiastic musical involvement with both children and adults, having won several awards, including the Rotary Foundation’s Paul Harris Fellowship Gold Award in 2019, for his ‘long-term outstanding contribution to children’s music’. Clive became MD of Reading Male Voice Choir in 2015, having joined as its accompanist while still a student! He is also Musical Director of Wokingham Borough Council’s ‘Music for All’ project, which each year gives 800 primary children the opportunity to perform at Reading’s Hexagon Theatre.
RMVC has many links with choirs in Europe and usually travel abroad every two years. Recently we sang in international choral festivals in Alsace, Italy; and in 2019 we travelled to Poland to sing with the Harfa Choir of Warsaw.
