I believe: Life after death

Reading Bach Choir are delighted to return to St Andrew’s Church for their next concert. Fittingly, the music will reflect the season of Remembrance, with a programme entitled “I believe: Life after death”. We explore three stages of this - firstly a piece marking “the separation of the soul from the body”, then a Requiem giving comfort to those who remain and mourn, and lastly a setting of an affirmation of belief that follows a loss.  We do hope you will join us for what promises to be a moving and uplifting concert!

On leaving - Galina Grigorjeva, a notable contemporary Ukrainian composer

Requiem - Herbert Howells, marking the 90th anniversary of its composition

Credo (I believe) - Margaret Bonds; a setting of words by W.E.B. Du Bois and a statement of harmony and professed belief
