Parenthesis Choir Spring Concert

Parenthesis Choir return to Caversham Heights Methodist Church for their Spring Concert, with a suitably seasonal programme of choral works
Duruflé Requiem.
This is built upon chant melodies taken from the Gregorian Requiem Mass. It is dedicated to the memory of his father.
Poulenc Gloria
The Gloria is a setting of the Roman Catholic Gloria in excelsis Deo text, one of his most celebrated works.
Lotti Crucifixus
The programme is completed by Antonio Lotti's famous 8 part setting of the text Crucifixus est prop nobis (he was crucified for us).
Directing the choir is Richard Harker, who is also the musical director of the Hythe Singers, Hampton Choral society, Henley Choral society, and a Henley Youth choir. He is Chorus Master at Opera Holland Park and classroom music teacher. Richard also works extensively as an organist and accompanist.
Richard graduated with an MA in Choral Conducting from the Royal Academy of Music, receiving the Thomas Armstrong Prize. He read music at, and was organ scholar of Fitzwillam College Cambridge, where he received the Swinburne prize.
