Dressmaking – Alterations Day Course

Learn how to do your own alterations to make your wardrobe fit well and last longer.

This course will give you the skills you need to make simple adjustments to your own clothing.

You will learn the basics of taking in and letting out fabrics, sewing on buttons and zippers, repairing rips and tears, and repairing hems.

You will gain experience using machines, needles, threads, and tools to make alterations, and gain confidence in handling different fabrics so you never have to pay for alterations again! 

You will need to bring: 

Please bring your garments for alterations to the first session with you. 

Basic kit and equipment will be provided and guidance on additional kit required will be given by the tutor.
