Intaglio Printmaking

The class will teach you how to make small intaglio prints with a pasta maker

Sun 23 Feb, 11:00 - 12:30

The class will teach you how to make small intaglio prints with a pasta maker. Traditionally making intaglio prints is very hard to achieve outside of a printmaking studio due to the heavy and costly equipment needed but by using a pasta roller in this session, you will learn how this can be achieved ...in your own kitchen!

During the session you will be guided through the design process and learn about the materials that are going to be used to make your print. Next you will prepare your own printing plate before printing your design onto paper using the pasta maker.

Please feel free to bring your own small sketches to work from, or just come and be inspired during the class.

Printing can be messy so please wear suitable clothing, or bring some overalls.

Mostly come ready to enjoy experimenting!

This class is suitable for beginners or those with some printmaking experience who are looking for an excuse to have some fun. All materials are included. There will be a 30 minute lunch break within the session - feel free to bring packed lunch to the studios.

The workshop is taught by Katie who goes by the artist name squireel ink. Katie makes drawings and prints that hope to inspire moments of peace and fuel for daydreams.

Katie studied drawing at UAL and is also a qualified early years teacher.

She has taught workshops to all ages as a workshop facilitator with Jelly since joining the charity in 2015.

This workshop is for adults. Please note that this workshop needs a minimum number of bookings to go ahead.
