Beat:Cancer and Church Of Madness team up to bring you a Christmas party to end all christmas parties... well, at least those that they've run, in the Facebar, on the 7th of December....
They are pleased to present GrabYourFace, MATT HART, Red Meat and Paresis as your live acts... plus special guest DJs Gilly Woo and Kohl to provide the post-band entertainment all the way through to 3am!
The nearest car park is Q-Park on Chatham street, about a minute from the venue. It is open all night, and secure. A slightly cheaper alternative is the Oracle car park, which is a longer walk, through town.
Pre-event drinking establishment of choice for local goths would be the Castle Tap where they serve an excellent selection of proper beers/ales/gins. This is on Castle hill, the bottom end of Carey Street on the event map.
What is Beat:Cancer?
Beat:Cancer is a charity formed to help fight cancer through funding research, treatment, screening and care using electronic music: We release music, run club nights, host gigs and organise festivals to raise money, which we then grant to worthy institutions such as hospices, research centres and treatment wards.
We are a registered UK Charity (number 1169212) run entirely by unpaid volunteers who are passionate about using great music to save lives.
Since forming in 2012 with the humble beginnings of a small Halloween fundraiser in Peterborough and 100 copies of Beat:Cancer v1 we have produced CD, cassette and digital compilations, totaling 9 CDs of cancer kicking music: all donated by fantastic artists around the world. Our releases are the perfect take home companion to the festivals, club-nights and gigs we run across the UK. Starting Beat:Cancer has found a home in the hearts of fans, allowing us to host artists such as Memmaker, The Gothsicles, ESA, Freakangel, Modulate and Neonsol.
Make a weekend of it:
Schism Rock Club have decided to team up and make a full weekend of it, by creating something of a mini winter music festival starting with SCHISM & BEAT:CANCER on Friday the 6th of December. If you book a ticket for both, you can get a special add-on price for the Schism event.
