South Street is situated just to the South of Reading's town centre, 5 minutes from the Oracle Riverside, and boasts two performance spaces. The small-scale programme focuses on critically acclaimed touring theatre, music, comedy & spoken word.

South Street has two venues, our Main Theatre & the MacDevitts Studio - both of which are perfect for small performances, workshops, rehearsals, parties, conferences and staff training. The flexible, intimate spaces at South Street can meet the needs for cabaret style, raked seating and standing performances. Events we regularly host in them include music, theatre, stand up comedy, live literature and children's theatre.

Main Theatre - 142 seated (with a 4m stage for comedy & music); 112 seated (with a 6m stage for theatre) or 220 standing.
MacDevitts Studio - 60 seated or 100 standing
The bar opens approximately one hour before each performance except when a doors time is advertised.
There is on street parking which is free after 8pm, pay on meter at other times. Queens Road public car park is less than 5 minutes walk from South Street. South Street has private car parking for staff, tenants and visiting artists only.
Full disabled access to all public parts of the building. Wheelchair seating is available; please mention at the time of booking if this is required .
