Gypsy Jazz with Gypsy Dynamite

Gypsy Dynamite is an acoustic guitar duo founded by Giulio Romano Malaisi (acoustic guitar) and Filippo Dall’Asta (gypsy guitar), rooted in the tradition of Django Reinhardt, fusing the fire of Gypsy Swing with influences drawn from Italian jazz, classical music, and rock. 

The project began in 2011 when two guitarists crossed paths at a pub in West London and recognised, in an instant, that something uncommon was there. Over the fifteen years that followed, the duo built a reputation on stages across Europe and beyond. 

For the 15th anniversary, Gypsy Dynamite returned to the studio — just the two of them, the guitars, and the music they have devoted themselves to for a decade and a half. The result is a brand-new show premiering in the UK this October. 

Gypsy Dynamite have played at major UK venues, including the 606 Club, Green Note, Oriole Bar and the Toulouse Lautrec Jazz Club and is recognised for bringing a modern, “millennial” twist to the traditional Gypsy jazz genre.
