Danni Nicholls in Concert

Sat 25th April 2026, 19:00-22:30

Hailing from Bedfordshire, England, growing up on the American roots music of her Anglo-Indian grandmother’s record collection, singer/songwriter Danni Nicholls has been paving her way in UK Americana for over a decade, building a loyal fan base and much critical praise.

With the wind in her sails after receiving three consecutive America Music Association UK award nominations (Album, Artist and Song of the year in 2017, 2018 & 2020 respectively), singer-songwriter Danni Nicholls' style has been describe as "smoky soul, folk-pop and heart-wrenching alt-country, all in a rich voice."

Over the past few years, Danni has played shows with the likes of Shakin' Stevens (28 date UK wide tour), Lucinda Williams, Sturgill Simpson, The Secret Sisters and notables and been invited to perform at festivals around the world including Cambridge Folk, Folk Alliance International and AmericanaFest, Nashville.

2019 saw the release of her third album, The Melted Morning, which was produced by Jordan Brooke Hamlin (The Indigo Girls, Lucy Wainwright-Roche) at the idyllic woodland studio MOXE, Nashville TN. Closely personal yet widely relatable, the themes of this album span an array of life's takeaways; from the pain and darkness of rejection, the fear of losing yourself and the power of human connection to offering up hope and new perspectives in the face of the adversities.

Following this, Danni has continued to release music, 2020's offering was a live album, singles in 2021 and 2022 and most recently, in 2024 - an 8 track vintage country style album of classic covers, reworked originals and a brand new original - the album honouring her Grandmother, her anglo Indian heritage and musical roots is named Under the Neem Plum Tree and produced by Sarah Peacock.

Having been invited to perform all over the world at prestigious events and festivals such as Cambridge Folk (UK), Tønder (Denmark) and Americanafest (USA), Danni is no stranger to the big stages which she loves to fill with her strong voice - both literally and metaphorically - singing songs with messages of hope and healing.

With comparisons to artists such as Linda Ronstadt, Brandi Carlile and Roseanne Cash, Danni’s vibrant, captivating performances are ensnaring hearts and minds far and wide as she tours incessantly, bringing with her wherever she goes, true authenticity, warmth and humility whilst proudly advocating for and representing the LGBTQIA+ community.

We can’t wait to welcome Danni Nicholls back to Village Concerts!
