Fizz, Fish and Chips!

19th April, Starting at 7 pm

Join us for the tastiest date at Thames Valley Wine School! Your Fish and Chip Supper will be served alongside a tasting of 6 perfectly picked wines. Starting with classics like Picpoul and Albariño, we'll finish with both English Sparkling Wine and Champagne. 

Your evening will consist of two parts:

Approx 7 pm - 7.45 pm tutored tasting of 6 wines which pair like a dream with Fish and Chips. We'll show you how to taste wine like a pro, teach you the principles of food and wine pairing, and introduce you to each wine.

Some of our past favourites include...

  • Picpoul de Pinet (a classic French seafood wine)
  • Albariño (in Spain they pair this wine with calamari)
  • Sauvignon Blanc (it doesn't matter where it's from Sauvignon Blanc is fantastic with fish and chips!)
  • Muscadet Sevre et Maine (trust us!)
  • Riesling (this variety is a go-to for all fatty foods)

But we are of the opinion that, however good these white wines are with Fish and Chips, the wine to top them all is Fizz! To test our theory, we'll be serving up two Sparkling Wines in your lineup of 6 wines. A rich biscuity Champagne AND a super fresh and dry English Sparkling Wine will round off our tasting. 

Approx 7.45 pm-9 pm we'll tuck into our Fish and Chips (mushy peas are optional) which wine works best?

These evenings offer a lot of fun and best of all lots of tasty food and wine!

If you are keen to learn a little more about wine and food pairing but would appreciate a more relaxed and casual approach then this is the tasting for you!

Please notify us at the time of booking if you have any specific dietary requirements and we will liaise with the restaurant to try and accommodate them. We cannot guarantee to be able to change the menu on the evening of the event.
