Storm In A Teacup Presents: Edward In Venice / For I Am
A bit of an international flavour to this night, Storm In A Teacup have stolen bands en route to Manchester Punk Festival!
Let's show these lovely people how we do it in Reading aye?
EDWARD IN VENICE (IT)
Edward in Venice are from Pesaro, Italy. They’ve been playing explosive, shout-along hardcore since 2011; their 2019 EP Empathy is their fourth release together. The band’s sound is quintessential screaming-fast melodic hardcore, with catchy melodies and a pinch of pop punk/emo thrown in.
Over they’ve years they’ve self-released two EPs, before bringing out Howler in 2015 via Lockjaw Records, Bird Attack, No Reason and White Russian.
They’ve completed several self-booked tours around mainland Europe, plus jaunts to the UK, Canada and Japan. They’ve supported incredible acts like Descendents, Flatliners, A Wilhelm Scream and Millencolin, as well as appearances at festivals like Groezrock, Punk Rock Holiday, SBAM and Manchester Punk Festival.
FOR I AM (BE)
Since playing their first show in 2014, For I Am have grown into one of the most well-known and active bands in the Belgian punk scene. The band’s always been a proud advocate of upbeat, powerful pop punk songs with catchy hooks and strong vocals by lead singer Hanne.
Over the course of 5 years the band’s released an EP called 15 Minutes Late (2015), a first full album by the name of All About Perspectives(2017)and compilation CD made for their Japanese Tour in 2019.
Encouraged by their rising sales and enthused audiences, the band went back to the studio and recorded its second full album called Late Bloomers. The album will be released on November 11th, 2019.
MISSING THE SCENE
A female fronted, melodic punk band with plenty of opportunities to sing and shout along. Born out of a longing for how the music scene in Reading used to be, Missing The Scene put their heart and soul into their shows, engaging with the crowds on a human level and singing about subjects we can all relate to.
LAUNCH CONTROL
Long standing, local, socio-political, punk rockers. Playing well thought out, thought provoking songs!
HARRISON WILDE
A friend of the night from back in the early days. Harrison will make you want to laugh and cry with a mixture of heart felt songs and ridiculous situations.
