Whether you've always wanted to learn to sew or have a machine gathering dust at home, this friendly 9-week Tuesday evening course is the perfect way to get out, enjoy some time for yourself, and go from complete beginner to confident sewist.
You'll start with the essentials — threading your machine, winding bobbins, setting tension, choosing needles, and understanding grain line — before building core skills including seam types, zip insertions, pleats, and pockets. The course finishes with a project of your own choice, guided from pattern to finished piece.
Perfect if you're a beginner wanting proper foundations, or dream of making your own clothes, homeware, or gifts. Already sew? Join to work on your own projects, or progress to our Intermediate Course afterwards.

What to bring: sewing machine, extension lead, thread, fabric scissors (pattern and fabric needed once you reach your project).
