The Tempest performed by Dolphin Youth Theatre

I must obey; his Art is of such power

Discover Dolphin Youth Theatre’s latest fast and furious production of Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’; a story of vengeance versus mercy, of illusions and prisons.

Forced from their home, Prospero, the wronged Duke of Milan and his daughter Miranda have survived for 12 bitter years among the ruins of an abandoned island. Conjuring up a terrible storm, he shipwrecks the usurping Antonio and his entourage on the island, and proceeds to manipulate the castaways towards a terrible reckoning.  But how much can you risk for revenge?  Sometimes forgiveness is the only way to break the cycle of evil and right the course for the next generation.

Dolphin Youth Theatre springs from a tiny school just outside Reading and is made up of young, talented actors, aged between 11 - 16.  Energy, collaboration and a passion to make work is all that is required to become a member of the company.

It is seldom that you see such polished, thoughtful work from such a young company but this company excels.  Bravo!
