SITELINES presents "Brothers"

by Benedict Sandiford. Produced by South Street

Sat 25 & Sun 26 Sept, every 15 mins, from 11am to 2pm

1285.

The Townsfolk of Reading have much to thank the Franciscan brothers who have ministered to the sick of the town for nigh on 50 years.

Yet the brothers still live on the flooded marshes by Caversham Bridge, granted to them begrudgingly by Reading Abbey.

Until today.

South Street is proud to present this very special seven-minute performance for one person at a time, as part of the celebrations for 900 years of Reading’s historic Abbey.

Written & Performed by Benedict Sandiford
Designed by Nigel Bish
Produced by John Luther

Commissioned by the Reading Abbey Revealed project. Originally performed in the Forbury Gardens as part of Reading Abbey's 900 Year Anniversary celebrations in June 2021.

With thanks to Christelle Beaupoux, Matthew Williams & Natalie Ganpatsingh.

South Street, Studio
