Bob Bowles is known throughout South West England for his bluesy guitar playing and soulful voice. He plays a mixture of acoustic and electric Blues gigs either solo, duo or with his band, Bob Bowles Band. On Saturday 2 March, Bob will be playing live at The Retreat as the Bob Bowles Trio.
Bob's guitar playing evokes the blues greats such as Rory Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix, Peter Green and Eric Clapton. Like these greats he celebrates musical tradition and lineage, honouring those with his own heartfelt writing and electrifying shows. Bob writes and performs his own songs and his varied set includes covers of Bob Dylan Jimi Hendrix, Van Morrison, and many more.
Bob has recorded with many great musicians such as Jamie Cullum and the late Kev Wilkinson (drums) who were both members of his live band. He has also worked with band members of Gary Moore, Duke Special, Jethro Tull, John Mayall, Van Morrison, Bad Company, Manfred Mann, Yardbirds, Kinks, Jools Holland, Steve Marriot band and The Waterboys. He has played support to Ben E King, Suzi Quatro, Eric Bibb, The Commitments, Chicken Shack, The Blues Band and Otis Grand. He has also performed with John Martyn, Eddie Martin and Eugene "Hideaway" Bridges.
