Celebrating its 150th anniversary, Wesley Methodist Church is holding an open day on Saturday 9 September with talks/tours.
Wesley Methodist Church is a grade 2 listed building. It was built in 1873 in the Gothic style, designed by an amateur architect (a Methodist minister). A new entrance extension was built in 1997.
The church is an active worshipping community, and is, therefore, open on Sundays, but it is not generally open to the public.
This year, as part of the 150th anniversary of the church opening, there will be a special open day on 9 September. It'll be open from 10am till 5pm with a tour at 2:30pm and a family treasure hunt running all day.
