You’ll pass under Caversham Bridge and continue next to the Old Father Thames, enjoying the river views and gentle footpaths that make this walk ideal for all ages and abilities. Take time to explore View Island’s tranquil green space, and see the Reading Hydro turbines near the weir as you reconnect with nature and the water’s edge.
The route continues along the Thames Path, threading beneath the Great Western Railway through The Biscuit Tunnel and past the fascinating Riverside Museum at Blake’s Lock, where history and riverside heritage live side by side. You’ll then weave through the vibrant Huntley Wharf development before entering the heart of Reading.
