More detail
The trees and wildflowers that we discover on this walk invite us into a world that values and celebrates our relationship with plants. It is an intimate relationship which has shaped, and continues to shape, our culture, customs, legends and folklore. As we walk there will be plenty of plant-lore facts along the way and we also welcome you to share your own ‘stories in the plants’.
Our walk starts out from Peppard down into Stoney Bottom where we roam through the towering beechwoods. It is then a steep climb up to Kingwood Common. From here we cross fields into New Copse and return to Peppard. Our route follows well used paths and tracks which may by rough and muddy in part. There is one steep hill to climb but we can take our time. We do not allow dogs on this walk, sorry!
We will take a short snack break mid-way (bring you own). No facilities on route. Optional post walk refreshment at the Unicorn PH. Please dress appropriately for a walk in the countryside and having regard to the British weather! Walking boots/shoes advised. Paths may be rough, muddy and steep in part. A small rucksack is useful for personal items such as water, snacks, spare clothing, etc. No facilities en-route (pub at end of walk).
