Join us for a fascinating guided walk through Reading, a town rich in history, culture, and innovation. This journey takes you through some of the most intriguing landmarks and stories that define Reading’s past and present. Our walk begins at Reading Gaol, 'celebrated' for its connection to Oscar Wilde. Along the way we will delve into the turbulent events of the Battle of Reading in 1688. Our exploration continues with a nod to William Henry Fox Talbot, the father of modern photography, plus we’ll uncover hidden gems, historical street names, statues and monuments and vibrant modern landmarks. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, literature lover, or simply curious about the town, this walk promises to captivate and inspire.
No breaks are planned on the walk. The walk is around the town centre with various toilet/refreshment options but the walk cannot wait for people.
