Who do we think we are?
A talk for Reading u3a by Catherine Sampson
Are you interested in tracing your family tree? Find out more about how to research, what types of records are available and how to interpret them. The talk is interspersed with humorous and poignant stories of ancestors encountered along the way and their stories. The speaker, Catherine Sampson, will share some of her own back story, which includes war heroes, pioneers, an early Union activist and aspiring politician, smugglers, criminals and a murderer!
Catherine Sampson is Chair of the Berkshire Family History Society and began her own family research when she was a teenager. She has written and published several books on local and family history and is a regular speaker across Berkshire on social history subjects.
