Rescuing Ruins

“Rescuing Ruins” is a talk by the Landmark Trust, one of Britain's leading building conservation charities, whose purpose is to save historic buildings in danger of being lost forever. The Trust restores them and gives them a new future by making them available to everyone for self-catering holidays. All their buildings are rich in history and atmosphere. The speaker is Alastair Dick-Cleland, a specialist in building conservation with over 25 years’ experience of working for the Landmark Trust.

The talk is hosted by Reading u3a, the learning co-operative of people who have retired from full-time work. Reading u3a offers a wide-ranging programme of guest speakers as well as its regular activities – some academic, some practical, some creative and others recreational.

All welcome on Monday 26 June at 2 pm at the Abbey Baptist Church, Abbey Square. Doors open at 1.30 pm. A great opportunity to find out about both the Landmark Trust and Reading u3a.
