Have you ever wondered about honey bees and beekeeping as a hobby?
Do you think it’s something you would like to know a little bit more about?
Jenny Morgan, Education Officer, Reading and District Beekeepers Association will join us at Abbey Baptist Church on 23rd March 2026. She is there to share her enthusiasm and passion with you. Jenny has been a beekeeper for over 14 years, is a Master Beekeeper and currently manages 35 hives. She is keen to assist other beekeepers to increase both their theoretical knowledge and practical expertise. She also spends time giving talks and demonstrations.
Jenny will give a sprinkling of her knowledge of the honey bee, its life cycle and how to make your own honey. Her talk will explore beehive development and indicate how, as beekeepers understood more about the biology and behaviour of bees, the hives were modified. She will also examine how beehive designs are still developing or reverting to earlier methods. There will be samples and jars to purchase.
Entry is Free and the talk begins at 2pm. Tea and Coffee are available from 1:30pm. Sponsored by Reading u3a Visit www.readingu3a.org.uk
