An informal handling and conversation session at the museum’s new store with Art Curator, Elaine Blake.

The museum’s studio textile collection includes embroideries, woven wall hangings, and printed fabric lengths which concentrate on colour, texture and innovative techniques. They were collected during the 1960s and 1970s as exceptional examples of contemporary craft. The stunning works including abstract designs by well-known makers such as Peter Collingwood, Hazel Fox, Roger Oates, and Joy Clucas.

With design from this period in fashion today it’s a great moment to be inspired! Bring your sketch book!
