Home Is Where the Music Is – Film Screening and Panel Discussion

We are pleased to present a screening programme at Reading Biscuit Factory on 26 June 2023. We will present short films by artists Cici Wu, Hsu Che-Yu, Hao Jingban, and Chris Zhongtian Yuan to further explore notions of resistance through imagination, reenactment, and improvisation. These themes can also be found in Chris Zhongtian Yuan’s solo exhibition Home of Where the Music Is at 571 Oxford Road.

Programme:

  • Unfinished Return of Yu Man Hon (2019) by Cici Wu
  • Re-rapture (2017) by Hsu Che-Yu
  • Slow Motion (2018) by Hao Jingban
  • All Trace Is Gone, No Clamour for a Kiss (2021-22) by Chris Zhongtian Yuan
  • Close, Closer (2020-21) by Chris Zhongtian Yuan

The screening will be followed by a Q&A and panel discussion with Chris Zhongtian Yuan, Paris-based curator Qu Chang, Reading-based curator Charles Wong and Reading International director Susanne Clausen.

Tickets are free but booking is required.
Home Is Where The Music Is was produced in cooperation with Macalline Art Center Beijing, Open Hand Open Space, and OnCurating.
