Appreciating Humanism through the Arts

-

Join us for an inspiring and enjoyable evening celebrating the power of creativity, ideas, and human connection.
Humanism values the arts as a way of exploring, expressing, and questioning what it means to be human. Through stories, poetry, music, visual art, and personal reflections, we can share experiences, spark conversation, and discover new perspectives.
This relaxed and welcoming session is an opportunity to unwind, be inspired, and enjoy the creativity of others. Whether you would like to perform, present, or simply listen, everyone is welcome.

Share your Humanism
We invite everyone to bring something that reflects their humanist values or worldview. This could be:

  • A poem or reading
  • A short piece of prose
  • Artwork or photography
  • Music or song
  • A personal reflection
  • Any creative work that resonates with you

Or simply come along to listen, enjoy the contributions, and chat with like-minded people.
If you have images, music, text, or other material you'd like to share during the session, please get in touch at reading@humanists.org.uk.
We look forward to an evening of creativity, conversation, and appreciation of the many ways the arts enrich our understanding of the human experience.

Our monthly talks are on the 3rd Tuesday at the Quaker Meeting House (with a break in August) and are typically followed by a Q&A or discussion. Tea and coffee are available at the start of the meeting.
