RBGS 10th Anniversary Party Games Session
July 3rd 2013 was the date of our very first game session at the Abbot Cook. Traditionally we've had a bit of a party on or around this date ever since (Covid permitting) so let's make this a big one.
We've got the whole of Neon reserved specifically for us, so plenty of room for a gathering of RBGS members new and old.
Playing games will still be the main attraction, but there may be a few surprises, so keep an eye on the Event Chat thread for this.
Bring your favourite games, bring some friends and
Bring The Party!
PERENNIAL INFORMATION
A popular session of general gaming, covering all styles and levels of complexity. Unless the brewery is closed or some other event prevents us from doing so, this session will take place every Sunday.
The venue opens at 1, with most people arriving within the first half an hour but you are welcome to turn up later. There is generally a good mix of quick and more involved games going on, so you're unlikely to be waiting too long for a game but it may still be worth posting on here if you are going to be later.
We will usually be in the 'Neon' bar, which has a great selection of tables, and even sofas for a bit of laid-back social deduction if that's your bag.
Please bring along anything you fancy playing, or just come with an open mind and join in with what others have brought; there will always be plenty of games present.
The brewery doesn't charge us for using their fantastic space, so please do spend something across the bar if you can afford to.
HOW TO FIND US:
It is less than 15 minutes walk from the train station and the centre of town, and there is parking immediately outside the venue. You can also lock bikes up to the fencing easily.
It all looks industrial from the outside but don't let that put you off. The entrance is the door towards the left of the building as you face it, and a warm and welcoming new world awaits those who venture through it.
Once inside look left and the Neon Bar is through the open doorway, but we will be in the main area when Neon Bar space is being used for other events. You'll know us by the large piles of games spread around the area.
FOOD & DRINK:
It's a brewery so beer is plentiful. I personally test as much as I can for quality. No need to thank me.
They also have other alcoholic and soft drinks.
Other than crisps etc. there will not usually be food available on a Sunday but you are welcome to bring food in or can order it for delivery.
ANYTHING ELSE?
- The brewery cannot stay open beyond 6 on a Sunday, so please bear this in mind when choosing which games to start, particularly later in the afternoon.
- Every game is personally owned by one of our members, so please treat them with respect and be especially careful with food and drink.
- At the moment there is no charge for this event. Everyone in attendance, including the hosts and organisers, are just turning up to have a good time playing board games.
- Any problems before, during or after the event please message or speak to the host(s) in the first instance, or message any member of the Leadership Team and someone should get back to you.
Please follow our T&C's for any of our events to ensure everyone has the best experience.
This class/workshop has already taken place.
