Plus! The Energy Bike Experience!
A pedal-bike mini-show, using the bike energy to power the event that’ll tell the story of human-induced and human-remedies to climate change in Reading.
The story transposes a dull industrial energy history of Reading from the industrial revolution to the present day into a physically engaging and immersive ‘ audience participation’ to power-up Reading. It physically communicates how fossil fuels have been pumped into the town to power up Reading and how the emergence of the climate crisis has led to changes to green and clean power making a huge, invisible change. Finally, it inspires the audience to take action in the near future. The audience will walk away, after a short work-out, with a better understanding that change has always been happening in our energy system and the role they can play at home in the future stages of decarbonisation.
