Reading Bach Choir: The Souls of all the Faithful

Reading Bach Choir invite you to immerse yourself in the Renaissance and Baroque periods, with wonderful works from Tomas Luis Victoria – a Requiem composed in 1605 – and the master himself, JS Bach. We will sing his wonderful motet Jesu, meine Freude (Jesus, my joy), and combine these two pieces with a short work by Heinrich Schütz, Selig sind die Toten (Blessed are the dead), composed in 1648. At this time of year, when we remember and give thanks for those that have come before, prepare to be moved by the enduring beauty of some of the most important sacred choral music ever conceived.
