Experience the spine-tingling drama of some of the most iconic requiems with Reading Bach Choir.
In this workshop we’ll explore the contrasts and consonances between some of the great requiem settings, from the quiet intimacy of Fauré to the exuberant theatricality of Verdi. Spanning nearly 200 years of music history, and a variety of religious and ceremonial approaches to the requiem, the vocal demands of the day will be equally varied!
Whether you are an experienced chorister or have never sung a requiem before, come and enjoy the thrill of singing these masterpieces with us. You are all very welcome.
We are delighted to welcome Matthew Hamilton (RBC director 2010-2017) back to Reading for this special 60th anniversary workshop. Since celebrating our 50th anniversary with us, Matthew has become a leading director of symphonic choruses, and has prepared all of today’s works for many of the world’s leading conductors and orchestras.
