Closer to Home Presents: MUNBOI

w/ Henjila + Leopard Boy

Closer To Home are quietly putting on gigs in the Berkshire area with some of our best local acts, ahead of an official launch later in 2024. Curated by former BBC Introducing presenter Alex West, and organised by creative collective Turntable Media, their nights are not to be missed.

After MUNBOI’s brilliant headline show at Purple Turtle earlier in the year, he returns, this time with a full band, on the eve of his next track release ‘Honey On Toast’. Packing loads of energy into his live sets, he’s sold out gigs in Reading and London, has racked up 2m streams on Spotify alone purely independently, and has had his tunes played on the BBC Introducing and Future Artists shows on Radio 1.

Henjila is Sandhurst's pop superstar. Her early career saw her acoustic bedroom creations garner hundreds of thousands of streams, and earn a collaboration with indie group Cassia. After a two year hiatus from releasing music, she’s gearing up for a busy few months of releasing new tunes. Expect surprises.

Hailing from Reading, Leopard Boy is a post-punk/indie rap genre-blending maverick. Challenging the saying that "a leopard can't change its spots," he proudly wears his unique pattern of ever-changing vitiligo as an emblem of empowerment. His debut track was played on 6Music’s Introducing Mixtape."
