BBC Introducing: Cameron Hayes / Madison Paris / hidingthehurt

Alex West and Nicky Booty from BBC Introducing Berkshire highlight upcoming local artists, giving you the chance to see the hottest new music in Berkshire.

Opening is hidingthehurt, an alt-pop singer-songwriter who uses autotuned vocals and energetic beats to create music through which he aims to "help people and show them their problems are valid and relatable". In his first year in music, hidingthehurt (real name Ollie) racked up 1 million streams on Spotify alone, including placements on 4 editorial playlists.

Next up, Slough's Madison Paris. Refreshing in her sound and style, alternative R&B songbird Madison is a captivating discovery. Empowering as she is enchanting, Madison Paris is defined by her ability to write and deliver authentic relatable stories alongside stylistic flourishes that make her truly unique. Her unmistakable soft and sensual vocals float atmospherically around her music, taking you on a musical journey you wont forget.

Finally, our Artist In Residence for June 2023, Cameron Hayes, takes to the stage. Cameron has a mix of influences from the Ashnikko, Oliver Tree, and Grandson, to Upsahl and Pixies. After writing and featuring on some massive DnB tracks by Dimension and Sub Focus which have been played on Radio 1 and streamed millions of times, Cameron has now been building her audience on TikTok, where she has nearly 3m likes and 142.9k followers. She describes her style as "bassy guitar music with haunting lyrics."
